Doctor Who Will Regenerate Off Camera

May 8th, 2007 @ 10:42:04 AM

Daniel writes, “I reckon that when David Tennent leaves Doctor Who, the regeneration will
happen off-camera, due to some cock-up during filming.”

Prediction: Rumor Will Come True

January 23rd, 2007 @ 12:25:03 AM

The internet is abuzz about  the possibility of , my favorite band of all time,  “The Police,” reuniting this year  and doing a world tour.  Its the 30th anniversary of the Roxanne release which  made them popular in the  states way back when.

Currently there is alot of misplaced tidbits, but I found some interesting congruencies.

1. This
2. Sting has nothing to do on Grammy night.

3. Sting is done with his European concerts by mid March. By this time the ticket pre sales should be doing nicely and then they start their touring.

I’ll be there, wherever that may be. Hmm, maybe I could follow the band like alot of Dead Heads do?

McDonald’s New Look

May 5th, 2006 @ 9:04:14 PM

Maybe Frith was on to something when he wrote back in 2005, “So anyway, I was surfing the internet when I came across this totally awesome website called “I Called It”, and it looked like it was about making predictions, and what do ya know…I like to make predictions!

For example, I predict that BUY HIGH AND SELL LOW Microsoft, McDonald’s, and Kran Bioengineering will be the companies to invest in. This is not spam. This is not a joke. This is the chance of a LIFETIME to make a LOT of MONEY during your LIFETIME. Don’t you want to LEAVE A LEGACY for your CHILDREN? Do you want them to think you were a LOSER?”

He may have been slightly joking, but McD is up 4 bucks since that prediction back on 3-20-05 and now get this, McDonald’s is changing their entire look of their stores.

McDonald's Corp's New Look

Read the rest of Frith’s prediction over here.

I think this is a good move for McDonald’s. Their menu has been evolving over the last 2 years to include healthier more modern options, yet their stores today still have that brick like flooring and yellow and red fiberglass/plastic benches. I’ve been eating at Mickey D’s since I was a baby where I ate their famous Filet-O-Fish sandwiches. I still eat at McDonald’s today 29 years later, however, most of the time I opt for their salad’s when I’m out running around. BTW the new Asian salad is pretty good.

I don’t own any McDonald’s stock, but I sure could get behind the company with this new look and new successful menu.

Leaked Prediction for TIME Magazine’s Person of the Year

December 6th, 2005 @ 9:59:44 AM

Check this out. Someone at the PR firm for TIME Magazine decided to use some inside info to make a little money. Yes they were betting/predicting who would be TIME magazine’s person of the year. The people who made these bets are obviously rookies to placing bets when the bookie is at a disadvantage. Lets see where they went wrong. Maximum allowable bet?! Are you kidding me. If you ever wanted to draw suspicion to yourselves, congratulations.

They could’ve bet half that and done it 3 or 4 times more. It would not have triggered the alerts that a max bet would. Hey next time you PR firms want to use inside information to make money off of offshore sportsbooks ask for some obvious advice. Geez. You guys could’ve been raking it in, laughing all the way to the copy machine. But no, you had to blow it. How about spreading your bet across multiple sportsbooks? Well maybe you did that. I hope so. Its called diversification.

Note: I do not bet on sports. Anymore. Haven’t in years. 8 years precisely. Long before sports wagering was common online.

Sportsbook.com, the world’s largest online sportsbook, has been forced to halt wagering on Time Magazine’s Person of the Year and Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the Year due to suspicious betting activity. Upon further investigation by Sportsbook.com, the first and only sportsbook to offer odds on the annual designations, it appears employees of a public relations agency linked to Time Warner have used inside information to place the maximum allowable bet on this year’s winners.

On the afternoon of Friday, December 2, a number of suspicious wagers, originating primarily from New York and New Jersey, were posted on Mother Nature to be named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year for 2005. These wagers have been traced back to e-mail addresses of a New York-based PR agency that lists Time Warner as one of its clients.

This decision followed on the heels of similarly suspicious betting activity on the 2005 recipient of Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the Year. Since the odds were posted on the annual designation several weeks ago, numerous wagers from the same sources for the maximum allowable bet were placed on New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Later in the evening of December 2, a leak emerged that Tom Brady would, in fact, be this year’s
winner.

Martha Stewart’s Omnimedia

October 21st, 2005 @ 1:11:36 PM

I Called It. On 6-4-2003, I said, “Is Martha’s Business doomed since it relies almost entirely on her image? I don’t think so. The stock price was actually up today on news of the indictment. Probably because this incident is behind them.” ICI frequenter, Meliz, also agreed.

Martha Stewart Post

MSO Martha Stewart’s Omnimedia stock price has doubled in price. The chart looks poised to go higher today.

The Apprentice part deux, Martha Stewart’s version, is following the same hyper promo format as The Original Apprentice with Donald Trump, where every week the groups were promoting some asset of Donald Trump (see Trump Ice).

This season they get to promote Martha Related stuff. Personally I think the Martha Stewart Loft is cooler. That view with the wall of windows is quite nice.

The Surreal Life Is Just Good

September 19th, 2005 @ 1:43:28 PM

This show is flat out entertaining.

I’m sorry for those that never saw the first season (which was not very popular at the time). Corey Feldman was the first problem creator and certainly wouldn’t be the last.

The recent episode from Season 5, where Omarossa from Apprentice fame, and Janice, “I don’t want to piss you off by not saying you’re not the world’s first supermodel,” Dickinson, “The World’s First Supermodel,” gets into a berating juggling match of name calling. While consoling Janice, Bronson Pinchot, bursts into a major cry fest after hearing Janice’s very rough childhood story. Pepa, from Salt N Pepa, just kinda shrugs the shoulders when the cameras pan over to her.

This show may top the “Vern Troyer pissing in the corner nude” episode. In fact, this season might just top last season, which is incredible in itself, since season 4 of Surreal Life was the highest rated show ever on VH1.

Well Mr. Pink Called It, Jacko is free!

June 13th, 2005 @ 6:07:04 PM

Fans and friends of Michael Jackson rejoiced on Monday after a jury acquitted the pop star of child molestation charges in a trial that has captivated the world.

The innocent verdict was carried live across television screens from California to Croatia.

“I can’t believe it, I’m just so pleased I’m lost for words!” Uri Geller, Jackson’s psychic friend in Britain, told The Associated Press. “I’m trembling, this is so important. He did not let down his fans and all the people that love him.”

Jackson was found innocent of molesting a 13-year-old cancer survivor, giving the boy alcohol and conspiring to imprison his accuser and the boy’s family at his estate.

“He went through hell and now the nightmare is over,” Geller said.

As the jury indicated they had reached a decision Monday, British news channels streamed live coverage of the scene outside the court in Santa Maria, Calif.

Interest stretched to the Middle East, with Arab news channels al-Jazeera and al-Arabiya cutting to live footage as Jackson arrived at the courthouse for the verdict.

“The minutes before the verdict were the most nervous moments of my life. Now, these are the happiest moments of my life,” said Kent Vilhemsson, 21, watching from Skovde, Sweden.

In Germany, several news channels carried the verdict live, and the top-selling Bild newspaper quickly posted the headline “Acquittal!” on its Web site.

From the Herald

–I think people like Michael Jackson more overseas. In the US his popularity has been on a steady decline for years.
