Sara Lee and Kraft Getting Into Prepared Salad Game
Currently the top prepared salad companies are (in my neck of the woods) Fresh Express and Dole. You know what I’m talking about. Caesar by the bag, Mixed greens in plastic, or just straight up shredded lettuce. Its convenience man and its a big trend.
This audio clip talks about Kraft and Sara Lee getting into the game.
What are some international prepared salad brands? How popular are they where you live? Do you see this trend continuing?

Its old data though.
but anyway, i prefer to make my own salads - i simply hate all the extra packaging, plus the giant convenience tax charged by the producers.
tonight will be spinach salad with bacon/balsamic vinegar dressing and homemade croutons (plus spaghetti with homemade tomato sauce, and incredible olives).
croutons, if you did not know, are incredibly easy to make, and quite frugal, since they are best made from stale bread. just cut up somewhat stale bread (baguette is best), toss with a bit of oil, and broil till toasty (very briefly). then toss with whatever seasonings you feel like. you'll thank me for this someday.
(really off-topic: i am no vegetarian, but spaghetti with tomato sauce, when made correctly, is simply my favourite meal.)
