UFC 80 Predictions

BJ Penn vs Joe Stevenson - This is a great fight and going to be good for sure. I’ll go with BJ Penn.

Gabriel Gonzaga vs Fabricio Werdum - Another close one. I’ll go with Gonzaga because he has big fight experience.

Jes Liaudlin vs Marcus Davis - Marcus Davis because he’s undefeated across the pond and is getting better everytime and I think the UFC might have given him a can.

Wilson Gouveia vs Jason Lambert - Another close one. I’ll go with Lambert because of experience, but this one is a pickem as far as I’m concerned.

Jorges Rivera vs Kendall Grove - I want to pick Rivera here, but I haven’t seen much from him except a win over Edwin Dewees in an Ultimate Finale. Ok fine, I’ll go with Rivera, but not happy about it.

Antoni Hardonk vs Colin Robinson - Hardonk hasn’t done anything. I’ll go with the hometown unknown and take Robinson.

Paul Kelly vs Paul Taylor - Pass.

James Lee vs Alessio Sakara - Experience and new training camp at American Top Team gives Sakara an edge.

Per Eklund vs Sam Stout - Sam “Hands of Stone” easily .

  1. 5-3 not bad. The best pick was Rivera over Grove as Rivera was underdog. In the pre-fight prediction I didn't go into details as to why I picked who I picked, but Rivera is a battle tested fighter who has gone in the cage with top guys, while Kendall has not. This time around I picked guys based on heart and what I've seen from them in the past.

I said the Lambert/Gouveia was a pickem and Lambert was winning the fight squarely until Gouveia cleaned his clock and folded him up. I don't mind losing this pick because it was such a close one.

Werdum/Gonzaga was a fight that could've been good, but Gonzaga really was dissappointing. I mean amazingly dissappointing. No heart. For his sake, I hope he got hurt and thats why he was fighting the way he was.

Hardonk/Robinson - Frigging Hardonk decides to fight for once. I wanted to pick Hardok actually, but I've been so dissappointed in his lack of effort, heart, and desire to win the last two of his fights that I wasn't about to go down that road again. WOW Hardonk came out in a whole new self. Hes never fought like that before and if he does, all heavy's are in trouble. He's always been billed as having all the tools (he requires a considerably better ground game for sure). His standup was clean and technical and simply impressive.

Penn/Stevenson - Easy pick with BJ.

Stout/Eklund - Win for Stout came to a surprising decision.
